Coloring[edit]

Red banners usually indicate that something was done in an inappropriate manner, or may be dangerous to do, with the former more common. I'm thinking of changing this template background and border to something more blue, or colorless entirely; or of just ignoring my comments and appreciating the humorous image, whichever is more widely accepted. --Gryllida 12:42, 9 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Iirc, brianmc has mused on possibly doctoring the image to put much more paper on the desk, huge stacks overflowing it entirely.
The background isn't red, just mildly pink, I'd say (not everyone's eyes, nor everyone's display device, reacts the same way to colors). To me, fwiw, it doesn't say 'inappropriate' or 'danger', just 'I'm here' (not even sharply attention-getting, just modestly so). The border is very thin, so much so I hadn't even noticed it was red; it just doesn't color-clash with the background. I for one am not bothered by the red of the desk. --Pi zero (talk) 13:24, 9 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I've never really liked the red background, so I've switched it to blue. The red is vibrant and jarring, and there's no real harm in downgrading it (as they're going to notice it anyway, because it's a message). If you really want huge stacks, File:Busy desk red.svg exists.Microchip08 (talk) 00:59, 25 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
